Over the past few months, we have been working with a talented team. ether card In line with Devcon5, we provide an NFT-based on-chain ticketing solution to the Ethereum community.
The experiment will be conducted in two parts: a raffle and a donation of auction proceeds. Devcon Scholar Program It will happen in the next few days. We have committed 100 tickets to this year’s drawing and 50 tickets to the auction, and we plan to expand the availability of our on-chain ticketing option next year.
The draw opens at 5pm GMT on August 22nd. Links to the raffle and auction can be found here: https://ethercards.devcon.org When sales start.
Provably Fair Selling
Drawing: August 22-24
Proven Fair Selling works like a lottery. Anyone can submit a transaction at any time during the two-day sale. After 48 hours, the system will reveal who can claim the ticket.
To prevent people from submitting many trades to increase their chances, 2% of each non-winning trade is held. This is to encourage people with more funds to use auctions instead. In a follow-up post, we will outline a process that can help the community determine the best way to use these proceeds to benefit the Ethereum ecosystem.
Non-winning transactions minus a 2% “Sybil Resistance Fee” will be refunded after the sale ends.
ticket auction
Bidding: August 27-29 (Open: August 30-September 2)
The auction is modeled after the ENS domain registration silent auction. Bids will be submitted privately for 48 hours and must be made public at the end of the bidding period. We chose this system to avoid potential bidding wars. Any undisclosed bids after the end of the disclosure period will be void.
This year we wanted to create a variety of systems. Makes your ticketing process more resilient and showcases the power of Ethereum and open source community projects.. This is also an experiment that gives users the option to pay via fiat payments and exchange addresses, compared to an experiment to measure participation levels when the process requires direct interaction with on-chain mechanisms. We are excited to trial these two on-chain mechanisms as part of this diversification.
After two sales, a final opportunity to win tickets will come in the form of an appeal round, with unredeemed builder, student and sponsor tickets being redistributed through the online application process. The quantities available for the appeal are not yet known and will not be distributed until a month before the conference, so purchase your tickets in a raffle or auction if possible!
