Dear Ethereum Community, Builders, and Researchers,

For the first time Devconnect held in Amsterdam last year In 2022, we gathered for a week of in-depth workshops and discussions. Many who participated in the sessions and conversations said they felt Devconnect had made a significant impact on the ecosystem by fostering progress in a tangible way.

Many people have expressed their hopes for Devconnect to happen again, and after seeing its impact, we strongly agree. Today I can finally share it. Devconnect is back and will be held in Istanbul this year from November 13-19! 🇹🇷

What is DevConnect?

Devconnect is a week-long gathering featuring independent Ethereum events, each with a unique focus. The goal is to focus in-depth sessions on specific topics and bring the Ethereum community together in small groups to talk, learn, and make serious progress on specific topics. Events during Devconnect are independent and hosted by experts in the domain. you! Our team will facilitate coordination to ensure hosts have logistical help and help minimize duplication of similar domains to avoid pulling participants in different directions. Throughout the week we will maintain a coworking space where everyone interested can collaborate.

Most events target an audience of experts or enthusiasts in a specific area of the event for thorough understanding and discussion. Unlike a typical conference, we want this week-long gathering to foster the in-depth discussions and dialogue needed to continually improve Ethereum.

Devconnect is a natural candidate to apply. subtract, we look forward to the events, impact, and progress our community can create over the course of this week. If you’re interested in hosting an event, keep checking back for more resources and information.

Additionally, we want to emphasize that Devconnect ≠ Devcon will remain our flagship event. Devcon 7 enters Southeast Asia in 2024.

Why Istanbul 🇹🇷

Over the past few months, we’ve seen one community of developers and students stand out. This is exactly what the Turkish Ethereum community has been working hard to promote Istanbul. Nonetheless, we thoroughly evaluated various options for Devconnect 2023 locations, visiting several potential locations, touring venues, and checking availability. We considered a variety of options and evaluated each location before making a final decision.

We are excited to bring Devconnect to Istanbul, Turkey, a vibrant metropolis where two continents meet, and look forward to hosting an amazing event for the global Ethereum developer community.

But while we want this to be a joyous message, we are also aware and mindful of the following: devastating earthquake It has had a major impact in southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria, affecting the lives of millions of people. Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a loved one or a home.

This region will need support for a long time. If you would like to donate here List It was put together by some members of the community. We hope that our decision to bring Devconnect to Istanbul will show our support and encourage others to support the region in different ways.

We understand that concerns about earthquake safety may be on your mind. It wasn’t Istanbul physically We will continue to monitor the situation closely as it has been affected by the recent earthquake. We hope to see you soon and look forward to creating something meaningful and special in Istanbul during Devconnect this November.

In choosing Istanbul as the host city for Devconnect 2023, we aim to leverage its unique position as a bridge connecting East and West. Accessibility is a top priority, and it is relatively easy for attendees to obtain visas in most countries. As one of the world’s leading tourist hubs, Istanbul is well served by a major international airport that welcomes visitors from all over the world. Istanbul’s efficient local metro and abundance of venues suitable for community events make it the perfect location for Devconnect 2023.

The engaging local community and numerous student blockchain clubs in the region further strengthen our belief in the potential of this vibrant city. We are confident that Istanbul’s unique blend of history, culture, and modernity will provide an inspiring backdrop for the global Ethereum developer community to come together to collaborate with this passionate group and drive Ethereum innovation.

TL;DR

Mark your calendar: Devconnect IST, November 13-19, 2023.

More updates, details and event schedule will be coming soon. on our website And on and on Twitter! In the meantime, I’ll see you at one of our many other locations. community events What happens this year.
