Organizers of a crowdfunding campaign that raised nearly $700,000 in March to bring Solana’s meme coin, Dogwifhot (WIF), to the Las Vegas Sphere are confident the advertising deal will go through despite the long wait.
Mihir, one of five organizers listed on the official “sphere wif hat” website, told Cointelegraph he is “90 percent sure” the campaign will feature mascots in the Las Vegas Sphere for a week.
Mihir added that Sphere representatives coined the new “crypto-only” term after hearing about the campaign, and that there were internal meetings to develop a crypto-related policy in response to the initiative.
“We are (still) working with them to meet their standards and requirements,” he added.
He declined to comment further on the specifics of his discussions with WIF, citing concerns that it could influence ongoing negotiations or encourage unnecessary speculation about the WIF price.
Mihir added that there is a small chance that a deal could fall through due to concerns about requirements that the WIF community or partner companies cannot agree on, but so far “that hasn’t happened.”
A spokeswoman for Spear declined to comment.
Dogwifhat supporters are waiting since March
Some contributors who have donated to the crowdfunding initiative have raised concerns via X in recent weeks about the lack of communication from the organizers about progress and what to do with donations if discussions break down.
Mihir referred to a public message posted on the Dogwifhat official Telegram group on June 18, in which he said that if negotiations fail for any reason, all funds will be refunded to all contributors.
“Sphere is still a work in progress. Things like this take time and we are volunteering our time to work on the meme,” he wrote.
“If your reservation is cancelled, we will notify you immediately and refund your full amount.”
Mihir also said he wanted to “clear up any rumours” that the team might not be allowed to use the official image of Wif’s mascot, a dog named Archie, due to copyright issues.
“The images may or may not be copyrighted, but we are working with dog owners on different initiatives and they are excited about the memes,” Mihir said.
On March 18, anonymous cryptocurrency trader Gigantic Rebirth (also known as GCR) purchased a 1:1 NFT of the original image of Arch for $4.3 million.
Mihir added that he and other “sphere wif ha” team members have kept in touch with the arch’s owners, who have even loaned them a remake of the original pink knitted hat featured in the image.

The crowdfunding campaign’s organizers include well-known cryptocurrency trader Ansem and four other anonymous members of the WIF community, whose X handles are publicly available on the official campaign website.
Despite falling more than 62% from its all-time high of $4.83 on March 31, WIF remains the 54th largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
At the time of publication, WIF’s stock price was $1.85 and its market cap was $1.85 billion, up more than 1,000,000% since its launch in late November last year.
