Trump-backed World Liberty Financial Named Dolomite co-founder Corey Kaplan served as an advisor on the project.
Caplan co-founded Dolomite, a DeFi platform that describes itself as a next-generation money market platform and decentralized exchange. Since launching on Arbitrum One in October 2022, it has expanded its presence to other blockchain ecosystems, including Polygon’s zkEVM, Mantle, and X Layer, and offers a range of services, including margin trading, lending, and portfolio management.
World Liberty Financial is an unreleased cryptocurrency project promoted by Donald Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Jr., and has also recently been supported by Donald Trump. Posted X mentioned World Liberty Financial, tagged the project, and shared a video of the former president vowing to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the planet.”
The exact details of what services the project will provide and how the Trump family will be involved remain unclear.
World Liberty Financial called the news that Caplan was working on the project “the first of many” and said additional team members would be announced in the coming days.
Over the past few months, the Trump campaign has made numerous outreaches to the cryptocurrency community, including: speaking At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Trump also launched a collection of NFTs and launched a campaign to accept donations in cryptocurrency.
