The U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee also added a major hurdle limiting the Federal Reserve from issuing CBDCs. Introduced The September 2023 Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act, passed by Majority Leader Tom Emmer, would prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing CBDCs to individuals.
