Doodles, the team behind Doodles, a digital asset company and popular blue-chip non-fungible token collection, has partnered with luxury watch brand G-shock to launch a collection of NFT-inspired watches. The positive news led to a 62% increase in Doodles NFT sales compared to the previous day.

Doodles to launch NFT-inspired watch collection

In a February 1st blog post, Doodles confirmed plans to collaborate with G-Shock to release a collection of watches inspired by non-fungible tokens. G-Shock watches are a line of luxury watches manufactured by Japanese electronics company Casio and designed to resist mechanical stress. The physical x digital NFT collection will likely launch in the first quarter of 2024.

Launched in October 2021, Doodles is an NFT collection featuring a limited edition of 10,000 generative NFTs created by Evan Keast, Scott Martin, Jordan Castro, and Burnt Toast. The Doodles NFT ecosystem is home to humans, cats, pickles, apes, sentient flames, skeletons, aliens, and more.

Since its inception, Doodles has become one of the most prominent Ethereum NFT projects on social media, with a striking, colorful profile photo (PFP) and has grown in trading volume by over $550 million. Over the past few years, Doodles has brought notable changes to its ecosystem.

Early last year, Doodles announced plans to transition from a non-fungible token project into a media franchise. Co-founder Jordan Castro, popularly known online as Poopie, said in a statement posted on the Doodles Discord that the company will move away from the NFT marketplace and begin building new features and products.

In the meantime, Doodles has yet to share an exact date for its highly anticipated NFT-inspired luxury watch. Doodles is not the only NFT project that has started releasing NFT-related items. Last year, Pudgy Penguins launched its NFT-inspired toys, which are now available in the UK, US, Canada and Asia.
