ElevenLabs has unveiled a new group management feature within workspace settings in a strategic move to increase organizational control. According to ElevenLabs, these improvements aim to streamline access management and prevent unauthorized use of product features.
Enhanced Access Control
A newly introduced feature provides workspace administrators with the ability to set specific permissions for various groups and members. This includes restricting access to certain product features, such as dubbing, professional voice cloning, or API key generation. This helps organizations reduce unwanted spending and increase security.
Use opt-in products
Once permissions are enabled, new products within a workspace require explicit opt-in, ensuring that only authorized users have access to those products. This proactive approach allows organizations to maintain control over who can leverage different tools and capabilities to meet operational needs.
Backend enforcement restrictions
Most of the permissions are related to user interface control, but ElevenLabs has made it clear that API access requires a more stringent approach. Effective throttling requires explicitly blocking API key creation. Additionally, voice restrictions are enforced consistently at the backend level, providing an additional layer of security and compliance.
These updates represent ElevenLabs’ commitment to improving the user experience by providing powerful tools for workplace management, allowing organizations to customize access levels based on their specific needs.
