Ethereum protocol developers recently gathered for the 200th All Core Developers Execution (ACDE) conference, chaired by Tim Beiko of the Ethereum Foundation. According to Galaxy.com, these bi-weekly meetings are important for coordinating changes to the Ethereum execution layer.
Pectra Devnet 4 and Mekong River Updates
The meeting included updates on the Pectra and Mekong testnets. Parithosh Jayanthi of the Ethereum Foundation went live in an official blog post about the Mekong testnet, inviting developers to experiment with EIPs on Pectra. Despite our plans to deprecate Pectra Devnet 4, it will continue to operate during the upcoming Devcon conference.
Ready for Pectra Devnet 5
As the team prepares for Pectra Devnet 5, changes to EIP 7702 have been confirmed without objection. Discussions on improving the fee logic in EIP 7002 continue and developers are encouraged to address their concerns before the next meeting.
Activate individual EIPs
Alex Stokes raised a question about testing PeerDAS on Fusaka devnets without other changes enabled. Nethermind’s Łukasz Rozmej described his approach to EIP activation, and Geth’s Felix Lange warned of potential complications.
eth/70, shard block protocol
Giulio Rebuffo proposed a new EIP to solve the record growth problem by extending Ethereum’s wired protocol. Concerns were raised about the readiness of the portal network for data cleansing, leading to discussions on customer-specific solutions.
EIP 7610 Potential Removal
Concerns about the implementation of EIP 7610 have sparked discussion about the possible removal of EIP 7610. The developers agreed to work with the EIP authors to explore alternative solutions.
ACD Call Schedule
Next week’s ACDC meeting has been canceled due to the Devcon meeting. The conference will feature breakout sessions on Ethereum development. Regular calls will resume from November 21st.
