This event will feature a limited-time code review program that will engage top security researchers on Ethereum’s security and technology to find bugs in the core protocol.
Ethereum developers and ecosystem projects are invited to contribute to the program’s reward pool. The Ethereum Foundation has contributed $500,000 to the reward pool, which will be used to reward security researchers and developers for discovering security issues and bugs.
The event also includes an educational component aimed at increasing accessibility for security researchers and deepening their engagement within the Ethereum ecosystem.
“As part of our efforts to strengthen the security of the Ethereum protocol, we are excited to launch our first audit competition targeting the protocol itself and look forward to seeing what types of vulnerabilities are uncovered,” said Fredrik Svantes, Director of Protocol Security Research at the Ethereum Foundation.
Immunefi runs the largest web3 security community with over 45,000 researchers. The company claims to have paid out over $100 million in bug bounties, the largest in the software industry, and saved over $25 billion in user funds.
