Tenderly co-founder and SVP Nebojsa Urosevic said that as global adoption accelerates, Ethereum needs to adapt to surging transaction volumes without charging users as much.
Ethereum (ETH) is about to implement the Dencun upgrade, a technical overhaul of the blockchain’s base layer to enhance network throughput and reduce transaction costs by implementing protocol sharding.
Dencun will gain expanded data capacity for L2 solutions such as Optimism through access to blobs. Urosevic, who has 10 years of experience in soft engineering and maintains a custom, scalable Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) at Tenderly, believes this upgrade is important for the future of defi and breaks down barriers to entry for new users. .
For blockchain technology to reach global scale, these issues need to be addressed early, especially as Ethereum’s network capacity becomes more limited. Sustainable Ethereum scaling ensures sufficient room for new applications to emerge without compromising the network’s security, decentralization, or user experience.

Utilizing multichain technology for Ethereum scalability
Since Ethereum cannot scale infinitely without falling into the blockchain trilemma, layered multi-chain solutions have proven to be an efficient path for long-term scalability, Urosevic shared with crypto.news.
Over the years, the developer community has developed various solutions for scaling Ethereum. Each has its advantages, but optimistic and knowledge-free rollups are the most promising, efficient, and safe rollups.
Nebojsa Urosevic, Co-Founder and SVP of Tenderly
Tenderly’s co-founder said that Ethereum’s Dencun will encourage this rollup, launching much more general-purpose and application-specific chains to accommodate different types of users. According to Urosevic, this seamless tooling portability, made cheaper by handling throughput costs through Dencun, will be important for web2 companies as DeFi is en masse mounted on more traditional enterprises.
Improved developer infrastructure for widespread adoption
Tenderly’s SVP said that the evolving multichain ecosystem will ultimately drive additional levels of complexity. But the software veteran said it could provide standardized tools and practices for web3 developers while lowering the barrier to entry for web2 builders, fostering a seamless community for innovators.
If Dencun delivers on its promises, this solution will become easier to realize, Urosevic suggested.
Enabling larger-scale growth and development of the blockchain industry starts with supporting the people who build it. Ensuring a seamless experience for Web3 developers and providing the necessary tools and infrastructure are prerequisites for further innovation.
