Pixels hosted the first Web3 in-game wedding..
Popular Web3 content creator Cloudwhite decided that there was no better way to get married in a Web3 game than by meeting his partner at AxieCon, the 2022 Axie Infinity convention. He may be the first person to make such a decision.
“Having the wedding live streamed and hosted on Pixels Online was crucial to ensuring that my family and friends in Wisconsin and Laura’s family and friends in Columbia were able to attend,” Cloudwhite told Web3 Gamer.
“The idea of a Web3 wedding was very personal to us, but it was also a viable option for family and friends around the world who couldn’t attend a physical event,” he says.
Pixels is a laid-back adventure game where players can farm, explore, own land, and use NFTs within the community. The game supports weddings by offering exclusive in-game wedding outfits.
Gamers attending the wedding looked stunning in their finery to commemorate Cloudwhite’s special moment.
With so many attendees, CloudWhite was thankful the event was held online, as it would have otherwise cost a fortune. 3,789 people bought suits, and 1,865 people bought wedding dresses.
Cloudwhite admitted that everyone in attendance was a little “envious” of those who had fun in-game while wasting time on other things, especially one of the biggest commitments of their lives.
He describes one of his favorite moments as “seeing people create their own side events within the game, like the bachelor party in The Drunken Goose.”
Cloudwhite and his partner Laura got married on September 7th at Terra Villa Central in Pixel Games, which quickly became a hot topic in the Web 3.0 gaming community.
Even Sky Mavis, the creator of Ronin Network and Exi Infinity, which power Pixel, shared the news on social media.
Cloudwhite is grateful to the Web3 gaming community, especially the Ronin crew. He explains that they have his back and have helped the couple stay in touch while navigating the logistical challenges of living in the same country.
“The Ronin Network community around the world has been instrumental in our journey, with many of them welcoming us while we were traveling and awaiting Laura’s K-1 visa approval in the United States,” he explains.
“We traveled to eight countries. We waited 16 months for our K-1 visas. With the help of family and friends, she arrived safely in the U.S., and we planned our wedding in three weeks. This historic wedding at Pixels was six years in the making.”
Immortal Rising 2 Pre-Registrations Reach 400K, Executive Reveals Secret Ingredient
Dark fantasy idle RPG Immortal Rising 2 recently achieved over 400,000 pre-registrations ahead of its September 13 launch, and one of the game’s executives has speculated on what’s driving all that excitement ahead of launch.
“Immortal Rising 1 is one of the most successful idle RPGs ever, topping the sales charts in its category in Korea for eight consecutive months,” Jake Lee, chief publishing officer at Planetarium Labs, told Web3 Gamer.
“It’s a vibrant, proven IP that has successfully captured millions of Web2 users with a loyal player base,” he added.
While popular traditional games are being converted to Web3 and marketed accordingly, Lee explains that gamers won’t be pushed too far into Web3 right away. Some features will be introduced gradually over the next few months.
“Web3 capabilities will be rolling out in the coming months, and our goal is to naturally bridge the gap between the two target audiences,” he added.

Lee described the game as being backed by a “strong team,” noting that they’ve also brought on the lead game designer for the smash hit Dave The Diver, which sold a million copies in just 10 days and became one of the top-rated titles upon its release in January 2023.
The game’s publisher, Planetarium Labs, is the same Web 3.0 project behind Nine Chronicles, a fully on-chain idle RPG that Lee claims has over 100,000 monthly active users.
While Mr. Lee cannot disclose specifics about the game’s token economics just yet, he said the goal is to create a sustainable strategy for the token, focusing on long-term stability rather than rapid price increases.
