John E. Deaton, cryptocurrency lawyer and amicus curiae in the SEC-Ripple lawsuit, recently responded to the X handle ‘@jungleincX’. A Twitter representative asked Deaton about the announcement he would make. In response to this, Deaton Posted His photos include ‘1) the photo below; XRPL; ETH ICO’.

The tweet already made it clear what the announcement was, but a few hours ago, Deaton retweeted a post from former Ethereum network official Steven Nerayoff. presentation his return. Deaton said, ‘Stay tuned…’ ‘ quoted the tweet.
It became clearer that Deaton was hosting Steven Nerayoff on his podcast.
Steven Nerayoff was a former advisor to the Ethereum network who, along with an Ethereum employee named Michael Hlady, were accused of extortion by US federal agencies. Hlady pleaded guilty in April 2021, but Nerayoff maintained his innocence.
A U.S. court eventually dismissed the charges against Nerayoff in May 2023. Throughout the proceedings, Nerayoff’s lawyers leveled many charges against U.S. investigators. One such claim is that the day Nerayoff was arrested by the FBI, he was handed a piece of paper with the names of top cryptocurrency executives written on it. Nerayov’s lawyers claimed the FBI asked him to provide inside information about cryptocurrency executives that could later be used to file lawsuits.
It is worth noting that Ripple is currently fighting an SEC lawsuit, and in that context the upcoming podcast will be very interesting. Ripple has already claimed that the SEC threatens cryptocurrency companies to conform to its self-serving policies.
Ripple’s top executives have criticized SEC Chairman Gary Gensler on several occasions. Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s chief committee member, retweeted a Bloomberg Crypto post yesterday. Gary Gensler said securities laws apply to cryptocurrencies and could prevent investors from receiving bribes. Alderotti I left a comment.:
“What concerns me most about the entire video clip (and it should be yours too) is the shocking admission that unelected officials will not respect the court’s decision.”
