Former President Trump is “safe” following reports of shots fired “around him,” Trump spokesman Stephen Cheng said in a statement Sept. 15. “President Trump is safe following reports of shots fired around him. We have no further details at this time.”
The former president was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach when he heard gunshots. The golf course was immediately closed following the incident, CNN reported.

At this point, it is unclear whether the incident involved the former president or whether the gunfire came from inside the golf course.
