More than 100 former federal prosecutors and federal agents have joined forces to send a letter to Secretary of State Tony Blinken calling for the immediate release of detained Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan, published by Axios. ) was first confirmed.

However, Gambarian has helped investigate high-profile cases involving child pornography, national security, terrorist financing, and other major crimes. “Several of us worked with Tigran during this incident and witnessed firsthand his tireless commitment to the rule of law,” the letter reads.

Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance’s regional managers for Africa, were detained after arriving in Nigeria on February 26 amid accusations that Binance had profited from illegal trading there. Criminal charges against them were filed on February 28. Anjarwala later escaped detention on March 22.

Gambaryan and Binance are accused of $35 million in money laundering and tax violations in Nigeria, with court proceedings still ongoing.
