GetBlock integrates the Cronos (CRO) zkEVM RPC node to provide developers with customizable, high-speed API connectivity. This collaboration aims to streamline dApp development with cost-effective and secure solutions.

In a significant development for blockchain infrastructure, GetBlock announced the integration of the Cronos (CRO) zkEVM RPC node into its service portfolio. According to Cronos Labs, the move is aimed at improving the toolkit available to developers working on the zero-knowledge Ethereum virtual machine (zkEVM).

Creating developer opportunities

GetBlock, a leading Web3 infrastructure platform operating since 2019, now supports Cronos zkEVM via JSON RPC and WebSockets endpoints. This integration allows developers to bypass the complexity of running and maintaining their own nodes, which is often a difficult task for many teams. Instead, developers can now leverage GetBlock’s powerful infrastructure for flexible, customizable, high-speed API connections without having to compete for limited resources on public RPC endpoints.

The service is available in both free and paid plans, allowing developers to experiment with the features of Cronos zkEVM for free for up to 40,000 requests per day. This paves the way for resource-efficient development of decentralized applications (dApps) that provide secure and fast API endpoints with minimal effort.

Setting a new standard for blockchain-as-a-service

The GetBlock suite of services for Cronos zkEVM includes both shared and dedicated node options. Shared Nodes are available in a variety of packages, from limited (starting at 5 million requests per month) to unlimited plans with terms of 3, 6, 9, or 12 months, each with a discount. For more demanding applications, teams can request dedicated nodes to ensure exclusive access and maximize throughput with industry-leading customization capabilities.

In addition to Cronos zkEVM, GetBlock users have the opportunity to explore RPC endpoints on more than 50 blockchains, covering both layer 1 and layer 2 networks. This extensive range includes all mainstream zkEVMs, providing a comprehensive suite of tools for blockchain developers.

Getting started with Cronos zkEVM on GetBlock

New users who want to explore Cronos zkEVM can get started by logging into GetBlock using a variety of methods, such as email, Google account, MetaMask, or GitHub. The process is simple and doesn’t require any sensitive data or credit card information.

Once registered, users can go to the dashboard, select Cronos zkEVM, and retrieve the mainnet endpoint address for a JSON RPC or WebSockets (WS) endpoint. This URL can then be integrated into the dApp codebase as a private RPC endpoint, replacing the need for public or self-hosted nodes.

If you choose a paid package, you can top up your account using a card or cryptocurrency. This service not only facilitates developers, but also benefits regular wallet users who want improved transaction privacy.

The integration of GetBlock and Cronos zkEVM is consistent with the latter’s mission to extend the capabilities of Ethereum to drive new levels of cost-effectiveness, speed, and security for dApps. This collaboration highlights the potential of zero-knowledge technology to push the boundaries of blockchain innovation.
