Hello world!
Welcome to something new ethereum.org.
This is not the end, but the beginning of ethereum.org reopening. As explained in more detail below, the new website is intentionally a work in progress. Like Ethereum, it starts as an experiment to grow and iterate openly as it is improved by the community.
Three Core Principles
As we move toward relaunch ethereum.orgWe follow three core principles:
One. Ethereum.org is a portal to community-built resources.
One of the biggest advantages of Ethereum is its large decentralized community. Over the years, the community has worked to create valuable resources including documentation, a wiki, newsletters, tutorials, and discussion forums.
The purpose of Ethereum.org is not to replace these resources, but to be a portal to them. Ethereum.org prioritizes linking to community-created content rather than hosting native content on every topic. Through community contributions, the website will evolve over time to always provide the best relevant material about Ethereum.
2. Built publicly with help from the community
Ethereum.org is being relaunched as an MVP and its design is intentionally reminiscent of a simple blank slate. We need your help to update and improve it over time. Contributor Guide or list unresolved issues If you want to get started.
Currently there are only 4 subpages.Beginner, use, learnand build) However, new items are expected to be added over time. We also expect to solicit submissions from the community for a redesign of entire subpages. Stay tuned for more details on how to participate.
The landing page’s main feature is a large “HERO” style image, which is currently only temporary. We plan to rotate the art over time, with regular changes as we receive submissions from the community. If you are interested in submitting a new HERO image design, please contact us at: website@ethereum.org.
Want to know more? Go to Github and read it. Contributor Guide.
three. This is not your typical product website.
Ethereum is the world’s largest open source blockchain community. Development of core technologies is distributed across a variety of organizations, and the network is used in real-time in production environments to protect billions of dollars worth of digital assets and other valuable states. Ethereum is the world’s most technologically mature and most widely used programmable blockchain.
Ethereum is different, and ethereum.org should be different. This will not be your typical product website by any means, as we will not be trying to sell you anything. This is a website for a community that’s busy onboarding new developers and users, educating ourselves and each other, building, etc.
thank you!
If you’ve been using Ethereum for a while, you’ll know that ethereum.org has been in need of an update for a long time.
But these delays were rare. The Ethereum community has taken on the responsibility of creating and maintaining documentation, community learning resources, and training materials, while also bringing new users and developers on board. If you have played any part in this effort over the years, thank you.
We hope to continue this important trend by relaunching ethereum.org as an open source portal for the community. Ultimately, there is no better way to represent Ethereum to the world than by maintaining its spirit of decentralization and independence.
