According to blog.google, Gemini 2.0 introduces a series of new features, including multi-mode output with native image and audio generation capabilities, along with seamless integration with tools like Google Search and Maps.
Gemini 2.0 Features and Functions
The latest version, Gemini 2.0, offers enhancements that empower both developers and users. Supports multi-mode output, providing a more dynamic and interactive user experience. Additionally, this model is equipped with native image generation and audio output functions, broadening the scope of interaction and application with AI.
In addition to these enhancements, Gemini 2.0 integrates with Google’s existing platforms, such as Search and Maps, to promote more intuitive navigation and information discovery. This integration aims to improve functionality and user experience across various Google services.
Experimental models and research prototypes
Google has released an experimental version of Gemini 2.0 Flash that promises lower latency and improved performance. Developers can access this model through the Gemini API through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Additionally, a chat-optimized version of Gemini 2.0 is available to Gemini and Gemini Advanced users worldwide, allowing you to explore features through the model dropdown on your desktop.
The company is also experimenting with new research prototypes, including Project Astra, which explores the potential of a general-purpose AI assistant. Another prototype, Project Mariner, is an experimental extension that explores AI-based actions within Chrome, and Jules acts as an AI-based code agent.
