BNB Chain, a leading blockchain community, has unveiled notable improvements to its Greenfield platform since version 1.6. The update is primarily focused on streamlining off-chain authentication and introducing new methods for object creation.
BEP-361 and BEP-364: Improved user experience
BEP-361 and BEP-364 have undergone significant changes to improve user experience. BEP-361 now facilitates simplified off-chain authentication, allowing users to complete identity verification in decentralized applications (DApps) with a single signature. This enhancement simplifies integration complexity for developers and improves the overall user experience.
Simplify off-chain authentication
The updated workflow simplifies identity verification within DApps by eliminating the need for wallet signing during EdDSA key pair generation. This streamlined approach benefits popular wallets like MetaMask and Trust Wallet, allowing them to seamlessly facilitate user authentication with a single signature.
A new way to create objects
BEP-364 introduces a simplified method for object creation. Users no longer need to calculate checksums or send transactions to the Greenfield blockchain when uploading objects. Instead, you can send objects directly to the underlying storage provider (SP). This update reduces the need for transaction confirmation and wallet signature pop-ups, simplifies the process of uploading multiple objects, and simplifies Greenfield’s integration with providers.
Why is it changing?
The changes to the Greenfield platform have brought numerous benefits. First, the system now handles erasure coding and checksum calculations on the server side, eliminating the need for users to perform these complex tasks. Second, users no longer need to interact with the blockchain network before uploading, eliminating the need for network switching and cryptocurrency ownership. As a result, the upload process goes more smoothly and efficiently. Finally, it simplifies the integration process for developers by minimizing the number of interactions with service providers and Greenfield chains.
BEP-364 adopted
DCellar, a decentralized storage platform, has already adopted BEP-364. Thanks to this upgrade, users can now upload files faster than ever before.
