Indian Jones and Lara Croft are basically the same person. The only thing that really differentiates them is that one is a professor and the other is a trust fund baby. Oh, and of course there is also the gender issue. But other than that, they are the same person. So a character that is essentially a combination of these two characters wouldn’t be that surprising.
Meet Amy Dawn, a character created by Hacksaw Gaming for their new game release, Dawn of Kings slot.
In this case, it’s best to leave Short Round at home.
Dawn of Kings is traditionally a “Book of” slot game, even though it doesn’t appear in the name. Although there are different “book” slots depending on the specifics, the core mechanics generally remain consistent. This means a series of little to no free spins featuring the base game bonus feature and an expanding symbol mechanic. However, Hacksaw has beefed up the standard “Book of” free spins and expanding symbol features.

Landing three golden book scatter symbols will trigger the basic standard Book of Dawn bonus feature. This is the standard round of “Book of” free spins we all know and love. Before the free spins round begins, symbols are selected randomly. During the free spins round, all instances of the selected symbol will expand to cover the entire reel on which that symbol appears. But it only scales if you do so and complete a winning combination.
If you trigger the free spins with 4 or more scatter symbols, the Triple Book of Dawn bonus round will be triggered. If you trigger the feature with 5 scatter symbols, you will also receive a prize worth 1,000 times your bet. The Triple Book of Dawn bonus is effectively the same as the Book of Dawn bonus, except that instead of just one expanding symbol, you randomly select three symbols to expand.

Then here is the best bonus for you. This is triggered when three or more scatter symbols appear on the reels simultaneously with the Best of Bonus symbol. When this happens, a standard Book of Dawn Free Spins or Triple Book of Dawn Free Spins round will be played, but instead of one set of spins, there will be a total of three rounds, with the highest payout being played. Essentially the best configuration of the 3rd edition. This isn’t the first time Hacksaw has implemented this feature, with Chaos Crew II featuring a similar Best of Bonus mechanic.
Is Dawn of Kings slot suitable for gods?
Betting on the Dawn of Kings slot starts from $0.10 per spin and goes up to $25 per spin. Bet at that highest level and you could win up to $250,000 thanks to a max multiplier of 10,000x. The slot features medium volatility and an RTP of 96.24%.
Hacksaw Gaming has had a fantastic start to the year with the releases of 2 Wild 2 Die, Feel the Beat, Beam Boys, and Fist of Destruction. I’d say their year has been perfect so far. But the Dawn of Kings slot stumbles. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. It’s not like that. It has fantastic graphics and tons of great bonus features. It is not unique in any shape or form. This is just another slot that utilizes Egyptian mythology, with characters lending aspects of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft. It’s a derivative and truly unexpected change from my favorite slot provider of the past year. Moreover, Hacksaw has proven in the past that it is perfectly capable of running slots with themes focused on Egyptian mythology. Hand of Anubis was released by Hacksaw in 2022 and was one of my favorite slots of the year.
I give the Dawn of Kings slot a 5 out of 10. However, it’s important to note that this game would have scored much higher if it had been from a different provider.
