Hong Kong Monetary Authority and HKUST Business School have signed an MOU to develop cyber security research against the threat of Hong Kong’s financial sectors.
The business and business schools of Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST BUSINESS SCHOOL) have begun cooperation to strengthen cyber security measures in the Hong Kong finance sector. The announcement announced on May 29, 2025 is developing great development to solve the evolving cyber threats that cause danger to financial stability.
Strategic framework for cyber security innovation
Signed between the two institutions, MOU (Memorandum of theing) sets a strategic framework for collaboration efforts aimed at the development of applied cyber security research. This partnership is designed to develop actual applications, raise awareness of emerging threats, as well as to foster special talent for continuous development of the financial industry.
Focus on SUPTECH and RegTech solutions
The core elements of collaboration are the exploration of innovative supervision and regtech solutions. HKMA aims to use cutting -edge technologies, such as the latest large language models, to improve supervision and to improve cyber security in the financial sector.
