The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is advancing digital credentials in India by adopting Avalanche blockchain to issue secure and tamper-resistant certificates.
As CoinTelegraph reported, this initiative, which partners with Zupple Labs to use the Avalanche blockchain, represents a pivotal step in digital credentials that aims to provide tamper-resistant and instantly verifiable certificates.
“IEEE demonstrates a forward-looking approach to applying blockchain technology, leveraging Avalanche’s C-Chain primarily for compatibility with the Ethereum virtual machine. Endorsed by organizations such as SK Planet and JP Morgan Onyx, choosing Avalanche (AVAX) depends on its ability to ensure the immutability, longevity, and security of its certificates.”

This decision, Mittal explains, also simplifies the deployment of applications essential to credential registries and identity management.
However, this plan is not without considerations. Reliance on a single blockchain platform, despite its current advantages, may raise questions about its flexibility and adaptability in the face of evolving technologies. As Zupple co-founder Neil Martis suggests, exploring additional parallel payment layers could be advantageous and ensure the system remains robust against technological change.
