Developers will soon have the opportunity to deploy Solana-powered AI agent applications on the Injective (INJ) blockchain thanks to a new cross-chain initiative. Layer-1 blockchain protocol Injective is collaborating with Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) blockchain Sonic to launch Smart Agent Hub, a platform designed to integrate AI agents into the decentralized Injective ecosystem, according to Injective’s blog.
The hub starts in Solana
Smart Agent Hub plans to launch a testnet in the first quarter of 2025, with full integration occurring in stages. This hub allows developers to deploy Solana-based AI agent applications using remote procedure calls. The plan leverages Sonic’s infrastructure and the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol to facilitate direct connectivity between the Injective WebAssembly blockchain and Solana. Additionally, a bridge is set up to transfer SOL and Solana based tokens along with the wrapped native injective token.
The collaboration comes shortly after Injective unveiled its iAgent software development kit, which integrates OpenAI technology into AI agents for data analysis, trend prediction and trade execution. Injective’s announcement highlighted its vision of a multi-VM future, allowing developers to build agents using a variety of virtual machines.
AI agent that attracts attention
As Injective highlights, the potential for AI agent growth is significant. The sector currently has a market capitalization of $11.2 billion, with Fetch.ai and Virtuals Protocol accounting for more than half of this value. This compares to a market cap of $145 billion for decentralized finance and $208 billion for stablecoins.
Other industry players are also exploring AI agent opportunities. Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase launched its AI Agent-Building Tool in October. Meanwhile, Near Protocol’s Near Intents, currently in beta, facilitates transactions between various native cryptocurrencies and uses smart contracts and chain signatures to interact with any blockchain or wallet. Story Protocol has developed a framework that allows AI agents to trade broadly defined intellectual property.
About injections
Injective is a high-speed, interoperable layer 1 blockchain optimized for building best-of-breed Web3 financial applications. It provides developers with a variety of powerful modules for creating decentralized applications (dApps). Its native asset, INJ, powers the rapidly expanding Injective ecosystem, backed by high-profile investors such as Jump Crypto, Pantera, and Mark Cuban. Blockchain was initially incubated by Binance.
