The 2024 AssemblyAI Hackathon in New York featured groundbreaking Speech AI projects highlighting creative uses of AssemblyAI tools. Learn about successful innovations and their potential impact.

The 2024 AssemblyAI Hackathon, held in New York City, served as a platform for developers to showcase innovative Speech AI projects using AssemblyAI’s advanced tools. Held on December 6th in the vibrant Soho district, the event brought together coders of all skill levels to collaborate and compete.

Hackathon Experience

Participants were encouraged to create new applications using AssemblyAI’s leading Speech AI API. The initiative aimed to foster community connections between developers and AI enthusiasts while promoting healthy competition. Attendees were provided free credit and on-site support to help them effectively integrate AssemblyAI’s technology into their projects.

creative innovation

Many teams formed voluntarily and worked diligently on the project throughout the day. The AssemblyAI team provided guidance to participants to help them navigate the company documentation and explore the various features of the API. Attendees utilized resources such as whiteboards and portable monitors to brainstorm and develop ideas, and some even used microphones to test voice-to-text capabilities.
