South Korean game publisher Com2uS announced a collaboration with the Oasys blockchain project on Monday.
Through this partnership, it is expected that the Web3 gaming infrastructure for game companies to enter the Japanese market will be further strengthened.
Oasys is a gaming-focused blockchain network that has previously collaborated with SoftBank, Sega, and Ubisoft. The network’s core team will provide technical support to Com2uS and its blockchain subsidiary XPLA to build a new layer 2 network compliant with local Japanese regulations.
“Through our partnership with Oasys, XPLA will make significant inroads into Japan, the world’s third-largest gaming market,” said Paul Kim, XPLA team leader. Com2uS plans to expand its presence in Japan based on “globally recognized” IP. added that it plans to release two Web3 games. First half of 2024.
Through this collaboration, the Seoul-based game developer is expected to incorporate major game franchises such as ‘Summoners War: Chronicles’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All Stars’ into the Oasis Network.
Com2uS, founded in 1998, had a market capitalization in Asia of more than 605 billion won ($454 million) as of Monday.
