London police arrest Pump.fun exploiter

UK police have reportedly arrested Jarett Dunn, known online as @STACCoverflow, for allegedly exploiting the Solana meme coin protocol Pump.fun.

The arrest follows a more than 24-hour intelligence operation that tracked Dunn’s movements through social media and other public sources.

London police arrested Pump.fun exploiter Jarett Dunn.

The Pump.fun protocol exploited on May 16 previously used Dunn. After the attack, he publicly criticized the company on social media. Dunn expressed his intent to disrupt the platform and said he was not worried about going to jail.

A private intelligence firm hired by third-party stakeholders tracked Dunn’s movements using his social media posts and other open source information. His last post on the X account @STACCverflow coincided with his arrest. A recent Instagram post showed him at a strip club in London, which may have helped determine his whereabouts.

After hours of searching the area near London’s Covent Garden, local authorities found Dunn at the Middle Eight Hotel and arrested him.

Dunn’s arrest sparked significant reaction in the cryptocurrency community. His @JarrettDunn

“I was detained overnight as the Pump team claimed I stole $2 million in ill-gotten gains in a plot to steal $80 million more,” he wrote.

Dunn explained that the Pump.fun team appears to be claiming Total Value Lock (TVL) as the amount to be charged. He therefore urged investors to withdraw their money from Pump.fun immediately. He also urged British citizens to bring charges against the company he identified as the entity of pump.fun.

Dunn plans to remain in the UK until his court appearance scheduled for August. He was released on bail.

Dunn appears to be in the hospital, as evidenced by his message exchanges with members of the cryptocurrency community and his introduction to the X account. As of this writing, authorities in London have yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrests.
