Mistral.ai announces free API tier, improved pricing, new enterprise-grade Mistral Small, and free vision capabilities in Le Chat.
According to Mistral.ai, Mistral.ai has announced significant updates including a free API tier, pricing improvements across models, and the launch of new enterprise-grade solutions.
La Plateforme’s Free Tier
La Plateforme, Mistral.ai’s serverless platform, now offers a free tier. This allows developers to start experimenting, evaluating, and prototyping for free. Users can seamlessly upgrade to the commercial tier to take advantage of full data isolation, zero retention options, and higher rate limits. Users also have the flexibility to deploy Mistral models on a variety of cloud infrastructures, including Azure, AWS, and GCP, or on their own tenants.

Mistral Small v24.09
The company has released Mistral Small v24.09, an enterprise-grade small model under the Mistral Research License. It provides a middle ground between Mistral NeMo 12B and Mistral Large 2, providing a cost-effective, fast, and reliable solution for a variety of applications.

Pixtral 12B by Le Chat
Following the release of Apache model Pixtral 12B, Mistral.ai now offers this vision-enabled model for free on le Chat. Pixtral 12B supports images of any size without compromising text-based performance and can be used to scan, analyze, search, caption, and understand personal or corporate knowledge files. The model is available under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing users to deploy it in their own environments without having to transfer sensitive data to third-party providers.
