The repatriation of former Terraform Labs CEO Kwon Do-won to South Korea has been delayed again.
According to local media, the court decided to wait until the Supreme Court rules on the request for legality protection.
As previously reported by The Block, the delay is yet another move in the back-and-forth over extradition from Montenegro after Kwon was arrested in March 2023 in Montenegro on suspicion of document forgery while attempting to board a flight to Dubai.
The High Court of Montenegro initially ruled in February of this year to extradite Kwon to the United States to face legal consequences related to the 2022 Terra Luna stablecoin crash. However, the court overturned the ruling in early March and decided to extradite him to South Korea instead, following months of appeals, delays, and inconsistent rulings.
