NVIDIA’s BLACKWELL platform introduces a liquid cooling system that increases water efficiency by more than 300 times, converting AI data centers into a sustainable and cost -effective solution.





NVIDIA has set up a new standard of data center cooling efficiency with the introduction of the BLACKWELL platform. According to the NVIDIA’s blog, innovative liquid cooling technology promises to be deployed as a game change in the AI ​​infrastructure area by improving more than 300 times more than 300 times of water efficiency.

AI data center conversion

As the AI ​​model becomes complicated, the traditional air cooling method is increasingly inappropriate and energy -intensive. The transition to liquid cooling seems to be essential for maintaining performance while managing costs. NVIDIA’s new liquid cooling systems, such as the GB200 NVL72 and GB300 NVL72, are designed to handle AI work, which is more efficient and reduced energy consumption and operating costs.

Cooling traditionally accounts for up to 40%of the electricity usage of data centers. NVIDIA’s liquid cooling technology can capture heat directly from the source to minimize the need for a mechanical cooler and work at a warmer water temperature. This approach not only slashes energy consumption, but also dramatically reduces water consumption. The system of the Blackwell Platform claims a 25 -fold cost reduction potential and is converted to more than $ 4 million with the annual reduction of the 50MW data center.

Innovative cooling method

As computing density and AI workloads increase, data centers must innovate the cooling strategy. Traditional methods such as mechanical coolers, evaporation cooling, dry cooler and pumped refrigerant system have advantages and limitations, respectively. Liquid cooling further supports this by efficiently managing the heat load of high density GPU settings.

NVIDIA’s efforts, including the Coolerchips program supported by the US Energy Bureau, aim to create a modular data center with the next generation cooling system. These initiatives are expected to improve cost efficiency and reduce environmental impacts to open a way for sustainable AI -based future.
