NVIDIA has announced the launch of its latest innovation, Holoscan for Media, a software-defined AI-enabled platform designed to power live media applications. According to the NVIDIA Technical Blog, the new platform allows live video pipelines to run concurrently with AI on the same infrastructure, significantly simplifying the development and deployment process for media developers.
Innovation in live media development
The Holoscan for Media platform introduces a revolutionary approach to live media application development. Now developers can build and deploy applications as software on reusable NVIDIA accelerated commercial off-the-shelf hardware. This flexibility is a game changer for the industry, eliminating the need for dedicated hardware environments and locations.
NVIDIA’s Live Media Solutions product line manager, Guillaume Polaillon, is featured in an explainer video detailing how the platform works and its potential benefits to developers. The video highlights that the platform leverages an IP-based, cloud-native architecture that integrates open source and widely used technologies.
Integration of new technologies
Holoscan for Media aims to streamline the development process, streamline delivery to customers, and integrate new technologies such as generative AI into live media solutions. The platform not only optimizes R&D costs, but also improves the adaptability and scalability of media applications.
The platform’s ability to leverage AI for live media workflows represents a major step forward for the industry, giving developers the tools they need to rapidly innovate and evolve.
NVIDIA at IBC2024
NVIDIA will showcase Holoscan for Media and other solutions at IBC2024, September 13-16. The event provides an opportunity for industry professionals to explore the capabilities of NVIDIA’s latest technologies and network with peers.
