NVIDIA’s video codec SDK 13.0 supports a significant upgrade by improving video encoding and decoding for modern video applications to support the BLACKWELL GPU.
NVIDIA has announced the launch of Video Codec SDK 13.0, a major update that includes support for the latest NVIDIA Blackwell GPU. According to NVIDIA, this new version is designed to improve both video encoding and decoding functions, solving the rapidly evolving demands of the video industry.
Main functions and improvements
SDK 13.0 offers some improvements to increase video quality and efficiency. The main features include improving compressive efficiency, new color format support and improved encoding quality. This update meets both professional video production and broadcasting.
Encoding improvement
NVIDIA has introduced some encoding features to improve video quality and reduce file size. SDK now supports encoding for YUV 4: 2: 2 H.264 and HEVC, allowing a wide range of use cases. In addition, it provides higher bits to introduce 10 -bit support for H.264 and enables 8 -bit content to 10 bits.
This update also brings intercoding for H.264 and introduces new modes for AV1, such as Lookahad Level and UHQ. For example, it is designed for waiting time resistance applications that require the highest video quality.
Decoding improvement
In front of the decoding, SDK expands support with 4: 2: 2 chroma sub -sampling for H.264 and HEVC to improve the function of a professional video workflow. In particular, the NVIDIA BLACKWELL GPU provides doubled throughput in H.264 decoding compared to the previous generation, and now supports 8K video decoding.
In addition, dynamic decode surface assignments are introduced to optimize GPU memory use, allowing more efficient video processing.
Blackwell GPU integration
The NVIDIA Blackwell GPU leads to great development to both encoding and decoding processes. Incorporating these GPUs into SDK, it is ideal for high -resolution video projects and large -scale video processing by ensuring softer video playback, faster decoding and improved color depth.
Industrial impact and adoption
NVIDIA has partnered with companies such as BLACKMAGIC, CAPCUT, and Wondershare with the launch of SDK. Blackmagic, Capcut and Wondershare have already integrated features such as Encode and Decode, AV1 UHQ, and Split encoding with 4: 2: 2. This cooperation emphasizes the industry’s preparation to adopt NVIDIA’s latest development.
NVIDIA Video CODEC SDK SDK 13.0 is ready to provide the tools for content creation, video editing and 8K image processing by setting new standards in video encoding and decoding. Enhancement of compression efficiency and support for new color formats match the increasing demands of modern video applications.
