Offchain Labs has released ArbOS 20, codenamed ‘Atlas’. ArbOS Atlas will significantly reduce transaction fees associated with Ethereum Layer 2, which is one of the most important outcomes.

The innovative ArbOS 20 Atlas is ready to bring revolutionary changes to the blockchain ecosystem, aiming to reduce Arbitrum’s transaction costs and develop user experience.

With the release of ArbOS 20, the new Arbitrum ecosystem will provide the following sources of support for Ethereum: Denkun Upgrade. As a result, Layer 2 blockchains have become more cost-effective because they store data in ‘blobs’ (Binary Large Objects) rather than expensive call data.

ArbOS integrates EVM+ and Stylus, giving developers the power to run applications and use cases. This has previously been found to be problematic in Arbitrum as it generates more transactions in DeFi, gaming, and SocialFi.

The use of Blobs on the Arbitrum chain opens up new areas of the transactional economy by making data storage more economical and ephemeral. A typical transaction may store large amounts of data. Unlike standard call data, which is stored in a database forever, Blob typically stores data off-chain and makes it inaccessible after three weeks.

Additionally, with the addition of EIP-6780 support in Atlas, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Arbitrum are now on the same page in terms of security, and future EVM improvements will be easier to implement. On the L1 side, Prysm was a pioneer in releasing draft EIP-4844.

This allowed us to test it with real network data and provided important answers about blob data from existing gossip networks. They have worked on all devnet and testnet forks, making the overall design more secure.

ArbOS Atlas was created through collaboration between Prysm clients and the Arbitrum Nitro team. Consensus layer implementations play an important role in the specification process and evaluate the feasibility of solutions created by Ethereum researchers and client teams.

Steven Goldfeder, CEO and co-founder of Offchain Labs, expressed his views while explaining the benefits of ArbOS Atlas, saying that this particular upgrade is fully aligned with the goal of further improving the usability of Ethereum for the general public and the native cryptocurrency. He said he would achieve it. Community.

ArbOS Atlas reduces the L2 base fee and L1 surplus fee per byte from 0.1gwei to 0.01gwei and from 2gwei to 0, respectively. This reduction in fee structure is considered cost-effective for developers and users. ArbOS 20 – Atlas promises functional improvements to Arbitrum transactions and can be upgraded through additional rollups. Ethereum native data availability improves customer and community user experience, enabling cheaper roll-up orders.

Offchain Labs is a provider of innovative Ethereum scaling solutions. The organization’s goal is to create products that allow developers, businesses, and individuals to leverage the unique capabilities of Ethereum technology and further revolutionize current industries.

By offering a variety of products, including Stylus, Arbitrum, and Prysm, the organization continually introduces new concepts and enhances the capabilities of the blockchain ecosystem.
