Community organizers are the glue that holds the Ethereum ecosystem together, and whether they lead large events, local meetups, hackathons, or seminars, without them we might all be wandering through the dark forests of the analog world. But what’s the fun in relying on chance encounters with relatives identified by an inconspicuous laptop sticker or an indefinable air of cryptocool?
Major events tend to generate more buzz, but not everyone can afford to travel halfway around the world for a conference. Small-scale events play an important role in making Ethereum inclusive, accessible, and cohesive. Anyone with an internet connection and a laptop can join a virtual meetup or join an online hackathon team, and there are countless opportunities at any time.
With this in mind, the Devcon team is collaborating with: ESP We host grants of $500-1500 for gatherings and small events. If you need help organizing an event or series and covering the associated costs, or if you’ve put off doing something special due to a lack of resources, we’re here to help! If your event has no costs associated with it, but you have other concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will see if we can help.
To be eligible for a grant, your event must:
- Ethereum-centric
- free to attend
- Open to anyone
- If holding in person, we will comply with all local COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.
- No focus on investment, price or token sales
- Events that have already taken place are excluded.
We’d love to hear from all kinds of organizers around the world. You can participate in any event that meets the criteria, regardless of whether you need support or not.
