Pay with Uniswap (UNI) via BitPay

BitPay now supports payments via Uniswap (UNI).

As part of improving the BitPay payment experience, BitPay now supports payments via Uniswap (UNI). Users can now use UNI to pay for goods and services through BitPay. BitPay now supports UNI within the BitPay Wallet app, including the ability to purchase, store, exchange, and spend UNI tokens.

With this addition, we aim to give the community additional choices regarding both tokens and blockchain. Uniswap is available on both Ethereum and Polygon networks.

A brief history of Uniswap

Uniswap, one of the pioneers of decentralized finance (DeFi), is a decentralized exchange (DEX) created in 2018 by Hayden Adams.

UNI It is the native token of Uniswap. UNI was released on September 17, 2020. One billion UNI tokens were distributed to the community, developer team, investors and advisors. Liquidity providers on Uniswap DEX earn a portion of trading fees and UNI tokens as compensation.
