Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL) A multi-chain scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain. Polygon is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that aims to improve speed and reduce the cost and complexity of transactions on the network. Polygon uses sidechains to help with off-chain computations while maintaining security and uses a decentralized network of proof-of-stake (PoS) validators. POL is an upgrade and rename of the MATIC token. Switching to POL tokens will improve token economics and governance rights, allowing stakeholders to shape the platform and participate more in decision-making through community initiatives.
