According to Pompliano, Trump will first issue Employee Accounting Bulletin No. 1. 121 (SAB 121) should be withdrawn. These regulations are now making it more difficult for banks to own digital assets. Instead of assets, digital assets should now be classified as liabilities. Once these restrictions are lifted, banks will be able to hold Bitcoin for their customers.
According to Pompliano, this could not only significantly increase institutional interest in cryptocurrencies, but also ensure that U.S. banks can better compete with banks around the world.
Second, Pompliano pointed out that Trump should move to create a national Bitcoin reserve. According to Pompliano, the groundwork for this is already laid, as the U.S. government already owns about 200,000 bitcoins.
