Ben Armstrong, popularly known as “Bitboy” in the cryptocurrency community, recently appeared on the latest episode of Tony Edwards’ YouTube show “Thinking Crypto” where he made some interesting predictions about the prices of Bitcoin and XRP.
The former millionaire influencer offered both hope and caution to crypto enthusiasts as he outlined his views on upcoming market trends.
“I’ve always believed that this bull market was going to happen on April Fool’s Day next year,” Armstrong told Edwards. “I think today is a good day to do something stupid.”
Armstrong stressed that he believes the next major Bitcoin (BTC) rally will likely begin on April 1, 2025, peaking sometime between April and late June.
He warned that while Bitcoin will experience significant upside, it is not advisable to expect extreme highs.
Armstrong said bitcoin “won’t go above $150,000,” suggesting a peak of $140,000 is a more realistic target. He acknowledged the possibility of a temporary surge to $170,000 or $180,000, but remained cautious about such an outcome.
“Institutions and big money people who buy in these crashes see the whales piling up and people say, ‘I don’t know if the bull market will come back…’ The chances of the bull market not coming back are 0%,” he said.
BitBoy: XRP $8-$10 Range ‘Almost Certain’
On Ripple (XRP), Armstrong mentioned recent developments that have helped clear up some of the regulatory uncertainty surrounding cryptocurrencies. On August 7, a judge ruled that Ripple must pay a $125 million fine for violating securities laws by selling XRP to institutions.
Armstrong predicts that XRP could reach between $8 and $10, a range he considers “almost certain.” He also speculated on potential scenarios that could further push XRP’s price higher, such as the introduction of an ETF or IPO, but remains skeptical that these events will materialize before the current bull market ends.
Armstrong’s insight also speaks to broader market implications, noting that the money flowing into XRP could negatively impact other cryptocurrencies, with Cardano (ADA) likely to be hit the hardest.
In conclusion, Armstrong’s prediction offers a mix of optimism and caution, urging investors to set realistic expectations while recognizing the potential for significant gains. As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, all eyes will be on Bitcoin and XRP as they navigate the next phase of the bull market.
