Re.al has officially launched its mainnet, launching a new blockchain platform that aims to manage real-world assets such as real estate and goods, and promising to return all profits to users.
Arbitrum (ARB) Running on Orbit and powered by Gelato’s Rollup-as-a-Service, re.al is off to a strong start with $40 million already committed and 190 assets ready for tokenization.
The platform aims to solve persistent challenges in decentralized finance (defi) by making assets more accessible for trading, improving interoperability and ensuring liquidity.
Explaining why they chose Arbitrum Orbit, Jag Singh, CEO of re.al, said, “Speed, flexibility and security are essential to fostering an ecosystem around real-world asset tokenization.”
From the beginning, re.al offers users a variety of tokenized assets, including real estate and government bonds. Singh introduced an innovative solution called the Basket token, which bundles individual assets into a single, more liquid ERC-20 token. The clever approach solves common liquidity problems and simplifies the management of these assets and their integration into other financial systems.
Early products and innovations
“Decentralized finance aims to democratize financial services by eliminating the need for traditional intermediaries. By weaving real-world assets into the Arbitrum ecosystem, real.al is making this vision a reality,” points out Peter Haymond of Offchain Labs, emphasizing the broader vision.
“Re.al combines sophisticated blockchain technology with practical web services. This convergence is poised to accelerate the adoption of real-asset apps and could significantly transform the blockchain landscape.” Hilmar Orth, founder of Gelato, expressed enthusiasm about the potential of the platform.
Re.al is working with Gelato RaaS and other partners such as LayerZero and RedStone Oracles to enhance the functionality and reach of the app ecosystem. This partnership enhances the platform’s capabilities and secures broader influence within the blockchain community.
