2024 marks a year of significant advancement and expansion for the Render Network, highlighted by significant increases in usage and the integration of advanced technology features. According to Render Network, the platform has seen a three-fold increase in usage with the introduction of new features and upgrades that improve the efficiency and scalability of the network.
Token Upgrades and Network Efficiency
A major milestone for the Render Network is the upgrade of most RNDR ERC-20 tokens to the new Solana SPL RENDER token. This transition facilitated the implementation of Burn Mint Equilibrium by laying the foundation for improved network efficiency and scalability. This mechanism supports network growth by enabling the launch of Creator and Availability rewards, which will be critical to network expansion in the second half of the year.
Expanded 3D tool support
Throughout the year, Render Network has implemented governance proposals to expand support for a variety of 3D rendering tools and workflows. In particular, the Render Network Cinema 4D Wizard was launched, providing a seamless workflow for artists using Cinema 4D to access the extensive computing power of the network. Additionally, integrations with Redshift and Blender Cycles further expand network capabilities, giving artists free access to high-performance GPU cloud rendering.
AI computing service integration
Render Network has made significant progress in integrating AI workflows into distributed GPU computing platforms. The network is starting to support generative AI services, including text-to-image generation tools such as BlackForest Labs’ Flux and Stability AI’s Stable Diffusion. This integration paves the way for a unified pipeline that unifies 3D and AI generation workflows, enhancing network utility beyond traditional GPU rendering.
Community growth and global presence
The Render Network community has experienced significant growth, with over 200,000 social media followers and over 40 million rendered frames. The network’s presence at major global events such as Mutek Montreal and Token2049 has strengthened its position as a leader in distributed computing and AI integration. These events fostered new partnerships and expanded the network’s influence in the 3D graphics and AI industries.
Looking ahead to 2025
As Render Network wraps up a successful year, the focus shifts to 2025 with plans to empower artists and redefine distributed computing. The network aims to expand its user base and support new 3D workflows, including Arnold Render and Blender, setting the stage for further growth and innovation in the coming year.
