The Walking Dead was a great series. The moment Glenn was killed by Negan in Season 7 was brutal. I don’t think I’ve ever been so affected by a television show before or since. Negan was also a brilliantly written villain. But I think a spinoff is out of reach. The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: World Beyond. It’s all getting a little ridiculous. But AMC isn’t the only entertainment provider releasing questionable sequels to zombie franchises.

This week Mascot released a sequel to the company’s popular Re Kill slot, which launches in 2022. Re-Kill Ultimate slot is definitely a promising name.

Why are sequels good?

I’m a firm believer that sequels need a reason to exist. Do you have more to say? great. I’ll make a sequel. Is there another character who can tell the story from a different perspective? great. I’ll make a sequel. Needing something new to release is not a good reason to make a sequel.

Mascot released the original Re Kill slot in late 2022. So what’s the difference? When it comes to reel frames, reels, and symbols, both slots are almost identical. The only difference is that instead of the green toxic symbol spawn, it’s now yellow. A notable change in the appearance of the slot is the background and zombie hands that pop out of the floor during gameplay. The background is an upgrade, but the hands are not.

In terms of bonus features, there are more of the same. Both slots feature random wild reels, free spins and a variant wild bonus feature. If you’re curious about how it works, here’s a Re Kill review. Re-Kill Ultimate slot features Mascot’s recently introduced Risk’N Buy feature. This is a variation on the existing purchase bonus feature. There are also multi-round risk games that offer you the opportunity to stake your winnings to double, triple or even quadruple your winnings.

The end times are near

Re-Kill Ultimate offers you the chance to win up to $225,000 when you bet $30 per spin. However, since the maximum multiplier is 7,500x, you can still win up to $1,500. The slot has high volatility and has an RTP rating of 95.4%.

When I call something the “ultimate” version, I have certain expectations. For horror slots, expect the bloodshed and carnage to be pushed to 11. Not so with Re-Kill Ultimate slot. It’s basically just a reskin with the latest updated standard features from the provider. It’s not a bad slot, but I’m not sure it needs to exist. Re-Kill Ultimate slot gets a 5 out of 10.

If you’re looking for some zombie themed slots I recommend try Taco Fury XXXTreme and Rotten.
