The sanctioned Russian encryption exchange Garantex announces the operation of the tethers after blocking the platform’s wallet.
The Russian Exchange said in a new telegram on Thursday that Tether blocked the wallet of Garan Tex, which includes 2.5 billion rubles of about $ 25 million.
“Dear user! We have bad news. Tethers entered the war with the Russian cryptographic market and blocked more than 2.5 billion rubles.
We are temporarily suspending all services, including Cryptocurrency withdrawal, and solve this problem with the entire team.
We are fighting and we will not give up! All USDTs in Russian wallets are now threatened. As always, we are the first, but not the last. Garan Tex Team. ”
The European Union included a tex in Russian sanctions last month and accused Garan’s tex as guilty of connection with Russian banks that helped the country avoids sanctions.
This is not the first time that tethers has actively cooperated with regulators to interfere with USDT in a wallet where tethers are sanctioned.
In September last year, TETHER, along with the US Department of Justice (DOJ), confiscated more than $ 6 million in wrong encryption in Southeast Asia.
