The Securities and Exchange Commission is soliciting comments on a handful of physical ether exchange-traded funds, according to the filing.

“The Commission is publishing this notice to solicit comments from interested parties regarding the proposed rule changes as amended by Amendment 1,” the agency said in a filing to Bitwise.
Comments on all three are due within 21 days.

Optimism about potential SEC approval of a spot ether ETF has been dampened.

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart commented on Fidelity’s filing on Tuesday.
“I was tagged in this tweet and many others regarding the 19b-4 filing for the Ethereum ETF today. Nothing in the filing signals that anything has changed,” Seyffart said. “Silence from the SEC is not a good thing here.”
