SoftServe and Continental Boost Automotive Digitalization

SoftServe, a renowned IT consulting and digital services provider, has collaborated with Continental, a leading German automotive technology company, to develop an innovative solution called Industrial Co-Pilot. Powered by generative AI, this virtual agent aims to optimize engineers’ maintenance workflows. As reported on the NVIDIA blog, these developments come in response to the industry’s growing need for a seamless, connected driving experience.

OpenUSD powers virtual factory solutions

SoftServe supports manufacturers like Continental by integrating the Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) framework into virtual factory solutions like Industrial Co-Pilot. These solutions are developed on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. OpenUSD provides the flexibility and scalability that organizations need to unlock the full potential of digital transformation. This simplifies operations and improves efficiency. NVIDIA Omniverse is an application programming interface, software development kit, and services platform that enables developers to seamlessly integrate OpenUSD and NVIDIA RTX rendering technologies into existing software tools and simulation workflows.

Realizing the Benefits of OpenUSD

Industrial Co-Pilot, a collaboration between SoftServe and Continental, combines generative AI and immersive 3D visualization. This allows factory teams to increase productivity during equipment and production line maintenance. With the help of a co-pilot, engineers can monitor the performance of production lines and individual stations or shop floors. The co-pilot also provides interaction capabilities to perform root cause analysis and receive step-by-step action instructions and recommendations. Streamlined documentation processes and improved maintenance procedures are expected to increase productivity and reduce maintenance effort and downtime by 10%.

OpenUSD and Omniverse power AI-enabled industrial applications.

Benjamin Huber, who leads Advanced Automation and Digitalization in Continental’s User Experience business area, highlighted the adoption of Omniverse and collaboration with SoftServe. The Omniverse platform provides Continental and SoftServe developers with the tools they need to create the next generation of AI-enabled industrial applications and services. By eliminating data silos and fostering cross-platform collaboration with OpenUSD, SoftServe and Continental developers enable engineers to work seamlessly across disciplines and systems. This drives efficiency and innovation throughout the process.

Embrace cutting-edge technology

SoftServe and Continental are reshaping automotive manufacturing by embracing advanced technologies and fostering collaboration. These OpenUSD-based solutions unlock tremendous potential shared by SoftServe and Continental representatives.
