Southeast Asia welcomes Devcon 7!

Hello, Ethereum family! 🦄

We’re excited to kick off the new year by not only revealing the location and date for Devcon 7, but also sharing exciting updates that expand our vision. This year, we are using all of Southeast Asia as a stage for community gatherings! why? Read on to find out!

First, thank you for your patience as rumors and speculation abound about our next destination. after Memorable time in Bogotá For Devcon VI, We have decided to hold Devcon 7 in 2024. One of the main reasons for the decision was our desire to increase the impact of Devcon on the local Ethereum community. The additional time allows us to more thoroughly engage with these local communities and support and empower them in more meaningful ways.

We are now ready to make Devcon 7 a more inclusive and regionally focused event, and to reflect this vision, we will call it “Devcon Southeast Asia” rather than mentioning the name of the host city.

With this context and new vision in mind, let’s take a look at the exciting details!

🎉 Devcon enters Southeast Asia 🎉

We are very excited to announce that Devcon 7 will be held from November 12th to 15th in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand🥳🎉. This event captures the spirit that will resonate throughout Southeast Asia in the years to come.

The Ethereum community in Southeast Asia holds significant potential, which is evident in the rapidly growing adoption of the cryptocurrency. Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand lead the way. Global Cryptocurrency Adoption IndexIt highlights the pivotal role of this region in the global Ethereum landscape.

Southeast Asia is a melting pot of diverse cultures, rich histories, and communities, and our intention is to include the entirety of Southeast Asia in the Devcon experience. From the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to the scenic beauty of Bali, from the tech hub of Singapore to the historical charm of Vietnam, the region pulses with energy. And with its unique blend of tradition and modernity, Bangkok is an ideal location for its suitability and global accessibility.

🛤 Road to Devcon: The journey so far 🛤

Over the past few months we have Road To Devcon (RTD) Grant Round. This initiative is born out of our commitment to support the growth of new Ethereum events, grassroots communities, and education efforts across Southeast Asia. We are delighted to see passion and innovative proposals pouring in from nearby Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam.

A big round of applause to everyone who has supported us so far! Your projects and efforts are preparing the Ethereum community for its journey in Southeast Asia.
