Meridian’s Dev Underground: A hub for innovation
At the recent Stellar (XLM) Meridian event, Dev Underground became a hub for developers eager to showcase their projects. According to Stellar, this unique platform allowed builders to engage in a comfortable yet dynamic environment that fostered networking and collaboration among participants.
Innovative projects take the stage
The second day of the event started with Bastian, who is well known in the Stellar community, sharing his latest project. Following that, Alejo, a longtime Stellar builder, launched Skyhitz, an app designed to cut out traditional middlemen and connect music artists directly with their fans.
Another highlight was David Nandwa’s HoneyCoin presentation. This project is notable for being the first in Africa to integrate MoneyGram as an on- and off-ramp, bringing a significant advancement to the region’s financial technology landscape.
Continued momentum for emerging projects
Gemma managed the proceedings efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions between presentations. One project that stood out was RampMeDaddy, which facilitates global cryptocurrency payments through Telegram. This new team at Stellar has achieved important milestones, including participation in the Stellar Kickstart and DraperU programs.
Engagement and Entertainment
Adding some fun to the entertainment, this event featured a fun session with Chad Ostrowski and Willem Wyndham of Aha Labs. The pair took a light-hearted break after the technical presentation by engaging in a fun game that tested their knowledge of each other.
Focus on Stella’s future
The post-lunch session included a presentation by Tommaso De Ponti, known as Tdep from xyclooLabs. He introduced Retroshades, a new feature in Mercury that allows users to create custom cloud indexers. Tdep’s commitment to the Stellar network is clear. Because he was one of the few community members who wrote key development proposals that were accepted.
The Meridian event highlighted Stellar’s active developer community and showcased a variety of innovative projects ready to advance the blockchain ecosystem.
