Electric Capital’s latest report highlights Sui’s rapid growth within the Move developer community, showing a significant increase in developer activity and engagement.
According to the latest Electric Capital developer data, Sui has the largest and fastest growing Move developer community, according to The Sui Blog. This growth highlights Sui’s new leadership in the blockchain industry.
Highlights from the Electric Capital Developer Report
From early 2024 to July 1, Sui saw a 219% increase in monthly active developers, remaining at around 1,400 developers throughout June. This surge shows the growing interest and engagement in Move development and the Sui platform.
More than half of Sui’s monthly active developers are dedicated single-chain developers, showing a strong will to build only on Sui. In addition, the number of full-time developers has increased by more than 145%, while part-time and new developers have more than doubled in three months.
Developer activity on Sui is at an all-time high, with code contributions also increasing significantly. Total commits have increased by 125%, reaching over 18,000 in the first half of 2024 alone, bringing the total commits overall to nearly 5 million. The total number of repositories has also increased by 84%, showing that the developer community is becoming more and more engaged on Sui.
Sui Overflow Hackathon Impact
Between March and June, there was a significant influx of new developers, largely due to the Sui Overflow Hackathon. With over 350 projects submitted, the hackathon showcased the excitement surrounding Sui and the platform’s ability to attract and support innovative builders.
