Tether, Bitfinex drop objections to FOIL requests from journalists including Bloomberg Businessweek’s Zeke Faux

Tether previously made a similar announcement after losing twice in court while trying to block a June 2021 FOIL request filed by CoinDesk. The request was made during the New York Attorney General’s investigation into claims that USDT, a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar issued by Tether, was not sufficiently backed by reserves from mid-2019 to early 2021, ultimately leading to a settlement of the charges with the company.
