Road Town, British Virgin Islands – April 29, 2024 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com/), a leading digital asset trading platform, announced today that customers can now deposit and withdraw Tether tokens (USDt) on Bitfinex’s Open Network (TON). This means that you no longer need to rely on external third-party wallets to use USDt in TON, you can simply use your Bitfinex account.

In 2018, Telegram unveiled TON (Open Network), a decentralized network for the existing Internet using blockchain technology. TON not only provides important services such as decentralized storage and payments for decentralized applications (dApps), but is also fully integrated with Telegram. The TON ecosystem includes decentralized exchange and staking tools along with domain names and multi-functional wallets. It is designed to allow for billions of fast, cheap and energy-efficient transactions.

Bitfinex seamlessly streamlines destination address activation by eliminating additional steps. To initiate a USDt transfer from TON, customers simply specify a withdrawal address.

Tether’s USDt is the first and most widely used stablecoin on the market, with CoinGecko reporting a market capitalization of over $109 billion.

“Open networks have created a lot of excitement in the cryptocurrency community, and the recent announcement of USDt offering on the blockchain promises to continue the buzz around this innovative project. “We are excited to give Bitfinex customers seamless access to transfer USDt over this rising network.” Henry Child, Head of Tokens at Bitfinex.

With this integration, Bitfinex customers can now deposit USDt on 18 blockchains and withdraw USDt across 15 blockchains*. These include Algorand, Avalanche, Bitcoin Cash’s Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP), Ethereum, EOS, Liquid Network, Omni, Polygon, Polygon zkEVM, Tezos, Tron, Solana, Polkadot, Kusama, Near Network, Kava, Celo and now The. Included. Open network.

* USDt withdrawals from Kusama, Bitcoin Cash SLP, and Omni Layer blockchains will no longer be supported starting January 9, 2023. Check out the full announcement here.
