TEZOS has activated the DAL (Data Availability Layer), an important component on the scaling roadmap. This development aims to improve rollup expansion and decentralization.
According to TEZOS, the blockchain network TEZOS enabled the data soluble layer (DAL) to mark an important milestone in the scaling roadmap. This development is considered pivotal to the expansion and decentralization of the TEZOS network, especially in rollup support.
Understand the data availability layer
DAL is designed to be openly accessible to timely data, which is essential for safe and efficient execution of rollups. Unlike traditional storage solutions, DAL functions as a ‘publishing proof’ system so that the rollup can be used without limiting the layer 1 block size.
This system uses sharing and redundancy to maintain high throughput while efficiently distributing data throughout the network, ensuring security and dispersion. This innovation is important because it prevents potential bottlenecks in the scaling process.
Baker’s role and participation incentives
In order for Dal to function optimally, active participation in network bakers is essential. The recent RIO upgrade has introduced an incentive for baker, where 10%of the participation rewards are assigned to those who run DAL nodes if 66%of the network is related. At present, participation is emerging at 65.8%, indicating the need for more bakers to join and maintain the efficiency of the system.
The implementation of DAL is not only a technology improvement, but also an act of action for the TEZOS community. Baker needs a minimum resource and is recommended to run Dal nodes that can work on home internet connections.
Implications for Tezo and blockchain environment
The activation of DAL is set ahead of TEZO in the blockchain extension race, and sets a precedent on how to expand efficiently without the distributed network damage. Ethereum is exploring similar solutions with the same concept as Danksharding, but Tezos’ DAL is already in operation and offers a model for others.
The promise of the Tezos network for expansion and decentralization is clear in this latest development, which not only improves technology, but also strengthens the community participation through incentive participation. As the blockchain environment continues to develop, initiatives such as DAL are important to determine the future of the distributed applications and networks.
