Tgtrautt, also known as TigerTrade, is a cryptocurrency scam platform that claims to provide trading and investment services but is actually scamming users.
Investors are often referred to this platform by someone they met online and with whom they believe they have a romantic relationship.
However, scammers have teams of people looking for victims on social media platforms and dating websites.
Once victims are addicted, they are encouraged to send their cash to legitimate cryptocurrency platforms before converting it to coins such as USDT or Ethereum. You are then instructed to make a deposit to the scam platform (in this case Tiger Trade).
Victims will see ‘profits’ show up in their accounts from the start, but when they come to withdraw cash, their withdrawals will be blocked.
The scammer will then ask you for a large sum of money to release your funds, claiming that it is a necessary fee to release your funds.
However, any more money transferred will also be lost.
TigerTrade Scam Spotted
There are many things that consider this platform a scam, including:
- There is no real functionality across platforms.
- There are numerous grammatical errors in the small amount of content on the site.
- Regulatory, licensing and contact information is missing.
- There are no social media platforms or official companion apps.
- Although it is a very new domain name, the platform claims to have been around since 2017.
- Domain Authority (DA) Rank 1 – The lowest possible rank means there are no incoming links and very little traffic to the platform.
- The overall look and feel of the site does not match that of a legitimate cryptocurrency platform.
- The domain name is Tgtrautt, but the name on the homepage is listed as TigerTrade. This is something you cannot do on a legitimate exchange.
How to Recover Funds from TigerTrade
Gather as much information as you can about the scammers you have dealt with and the transactions you have conducted.
You can then report what happened to the police, but your chances of recovering your cash are slim.
There are also private companies that can help, as I wrote here.
