In the long -standing court battle with Apple, EPIC Games’ latest victories can open a new encryption drive app in the US App Store.
Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who presided over the northern California region, ruled on Wednesday, and Apple demanded that App developers from limiting them by an external way to buy a link or button. This method does not receive a 27% fee for the steep 30% fee or external purchases that are charged for Apple in -app purchases.
NFT sales were allowed in the App Store before the ruling, but the purchase of the Apple will be applied. For example, OpenSea iOS app does not contain purchase features, and users can explore the collection. Other apps, such as Metamask, allowed a commission without commission using internal browsers.
Apple plans to appeal to the ruling. But in the meantime, the company has revised the rules for app developers and allowed these external links in the app in the US App Store.
According to Apple’s guidelines, app developers are app developers other than the United States, “buttons, external links, or customers indicating buttons, external links, or other currencies that are indicated by purchasing mechanisms other than in -app purchases.” Apple still restricts specific encryption apps, such as apps that still use devices to mine encryption or apps that provide cryptocurrency rewards for completing certain activities.
EPIC Games sued Apple in August 2020 after the iPhone producer removed HIT GAME FORTNITE from the App Store. EPIC has stimulated the company, including the ability to bypass 30% commissions for in -app purchases, and then mocks the famous Apple’s famous “1984” advertisement. According to EPIC CEO Tim Sweeneey, Fortnite will return to the US App Store next week.
